Fundraising

Women in German will celebrate fifty years as a feminist German studies organization in 2024. As an organization, WiG is committed to antiracist and inclusive teaching and scholarly practices, exercising critical self-awareness, and eradicating discrimination of all kinds, both inside and outside of academic spaces.

The Women in German Legacy Fund, 50 for 50, aims to raise $50,000 to establish a new endowment by WiG’s 50th anniversary in 2024. While contributions in any amount are welcome, suggested giving levels include:

  • 50 for 50 ($50/year through 2024)
  • Gifts of Gratitude ($250+)
  • Wigging Out ($1000+)

If you’ve attended our conferences, read an article in Feminist German Studies, won a prize, or in some other way benefitted from our organization, we invite you to take a moment and send your gratitude back to the organization. When you give, we’d love to hear from you and learn about your history with WiG. So be sure to click on the comment box and write a brief testimonial about what WiG has done for you, and why you are choosing to give back now!

WiG has been recognized by the IRS as a 501 (c) (3) tax-exempt organization. Thus, contributions to WiG are tax-deductible.

Within three days, during our remote 2021 conference that just ended, we already raised more than $1400 toward our goal. Help us reach our first mini-goal of $10,000 by the end of 2021!
