In this workshop, we want to address a range of overlapping purposes that a teaching portfolio can serve. Are you developing a teaching portfolio to submit with job applications? With your tenure and/or promotion file? Are you interested in using a teaching portfolio to track your success in improving a course or courses over time? To help us address your individual needs, we recommend that you bring some materials with you. Part of the workshop will be spent discussing the teaching philosophy statement, which forms the basis for any teaching portfolio, so please bring a draft of your teaching philosophy. We will also present guidelines for analyzing syllabi and for presenting student evaluation data, so bring a sample of either or both to work on if you wish.

If you can help, please send a hard copy (attaching files still messes up the formatting) to Marjanne GoozÈ. The workshop will provide general guidance and advice on CV and cover letter writing, and discuss interviewing techniques and preparation. Participants may bring sample cover letters and CVs. Given time and volunteers, there may be opportunities to receive individualized help and conduct mock interviews.
