B. Commercial sources for German videos and laser disks

  1. Mail Order Kaiser GmbH Buchversand, Aachenerstr. 11, München; Fax: (011-49-89) 08 22 40. According to Klaus Phillips, this business is very quick with orders and even accepts personal checks from the U.S. (!) Not a source to try if you want German films with English subtitles.
  2. Facets Multimedia, Inc. 1517 W. Fullerton, Chicago, IL 60614. Tel. (800) 331-6197. Great source for foreign and independent films, including classic Weimar and New German Cinema films. Usually with English subtitles.
  3. German Language Video Center/Heidelberg Haus, 7625-27 Pendleton Pike, Indianapolis, IN 46226-5298. Tel. (317) 547-1257; fax: (317) 547-1263. Great source for entertainment films (incl. Kitsch), esp. 50s Heimatfilme and 3rd Reich films, some with, some without English subtitles; also New German Cinema and classical Weimar cinema (but compare prices with Facets on these titles).
